ladysj
I am curious as to the best way to keep the wax from running out of the mold. I'm using wick pins with mold sealer but the wax still seems to always run out of the mold. Is there a technique to this since I'm pouring sooooo hot? TIA
SheilaW
If you're putting the wick pin inside of the mold then use metal tape. I never had any luck using mold sealer. Like you said with pouring so hot ( I pour at 200) the mold sealer leaked every single time! I prewick so the metal tape is easy plus you can unmold while the wax is still pretty hot so the candles slides out and no problems.
funnygirl
I put a wick stickum on the bottom of the mold, then I use 2 strips of metal tape and make an x over the stickum. Just make sure your tape extends up the side of the mold a little. I havent had to redo any of them for over 3 months now, and no leaks
funnygirl
Oops, I dont use wick pins. :undecided I use the rods with the plastic discs that go on the top of the mold that hold them steady and keep them centered. Forgot what they are called, but Green Leaf sells them. Sorry about that!

I've always used Plumber's Putty (found in any hardware store). I've never had any problems with leakage, and it's reusable, which is a plus for the budget! lolI hope that helps.
