lorryeaton
I have a customer who wants essential oil in soy wax. I need to know what amount of essential oil I should use per 1 lb. of wax. Also, does any one know where I can buy essential oils at a reasonable price.Thank you,
ChrisR
The amount per lb. would depend on what EO you are gonna use. Some stronger EO's you can get away with as little as .5 oz/lb and some you'll have to use up to 1.5 oz./lb. Also a lot of EO's will give you a fuel smell when you burn them. All EO's are not made the same, so the quality will differ between companies. Unfortunately testing EO's can get pretty expensive and you may find it never will throw good in wax. I supplement my FO's with EO's to give my candles that extra kick and that seems to work the best for me.
lorryeaton
Thank you for your quick reply. The only problem is this customer owns an "All Natural" store and won't use anything else, but essential oils. I have been on a number of website offering essential oils and they do vary in price and some are expensive. I think I'll try just a few and see if they sell. Thanks! daniedb
I offer a few EO scented candles, for my clients that like all-natural stuff. It really is just a trial and error thing...you have to try and see what happens. I like www.wellingtonfragrance.com, www.meadowsweet.com and www.thesage.com for EOs, for price and shipping.
