MRSGROOMS
A QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU EXPERIENCED SOAP MAKERS..... WHICH END PRODUCT DO YOU LIKE BEST, THE COLD PROCESS OR THE "CROCK POT" METHOD? ANY REASONS EITHER WAY WOULD BE APPRECIATED.THANKSMG
SheilaW
I'm not a pro but I like the way the finished bar of CP looks. For some reason HP looks kind of rough ( at least mine does) and CP makes a nice smooth bar.
eugenia
Hi Mrs. G. HP is not as smooth or pourable as CP but it does have it's advantages and is an excellent starting point for new soapers for the following reasons:1. You get to witness all the soap stages first hand and get a better understanding of what you are doing.2. Fragrance can wreak havoc with CP batches. Not so with HP. The fragrance is added at the very end of the process and the lye can no longer react badly with the fragrance.3. Bars are ready for immediate use. They will harden over time, but a "cure" is not required as the lye is fully dissipated by the end of the process.I started with HP and do mainly CP. If I have problems with a fragrance, the next time I will use the HP method for that one.HTH,e
