moniek
I have thought about putting my candles out in the front yard to try to sell some. Does anyone do this? This is not a "yard sale".
Corence
I tried once, but (at least around my town) anything in your yard people consider a yard sale. I had a lot of people show up, I had taken a add out in the paper. I didnt have much in the way of candles, only a few that i had tested, maybe 5. I had a lot of tarts though and a lot of dipped bears, but everyone wanted to haggle on the price. For me, it was a bust. I would say, try it though...you never know. ChrisR
If it's not a 'yard sale' you better check with your town or village office to see if you need a permit.
moniek
Who do I check with for a permit?
ChrisR
I know in my small village I'd check with the Village Clerk first or the County Clerk. If they don't know I'm sure they could send you in the right direction.
slyfoxy46628
I would say that people who are going to yard sales are looking for a bargain and if your prices are above $5 a piece that's not a bargain to them. At least in my experience. Those kind of people are looking for $.25 items and stuff like that.
sudsnwicks
If you're not wanting to call it a yard sale, then you might want to check with the city hall to see if it's allowed. If your home is zoned residential, it could be a problem.
MarsBars
I wouldn't do it. Like others mentioned above, people are looking for bargins and will most likely want to haggle you down. Stick with craft fairs, etc.
The_Dallas_Texas_Dean
I just can't "picture" that....well, I can, but it is not pretty.
Accents
You should be able to do it inside, as an open house. Can still advertise, put a banner out front or something.
