sangred
Does anybody know how to wick an old fashioned 8-candle taper mold?Thank you.
HeavenScentU
It's a pain. That's all I can tell you! I tried it so many times to keep the wick straight and just couldn't do it, so I decided it was cheaper and easier to buy the tapers. Good Luck! Candle Man
If you have the time, space and money IMO dipped tapers are better. You use cotton wicking on a frame then dip the frame in a deep vat of wax.
BruceCarvesWax
Yes easier to dip them if you can. I have some metal taper molds, but never use them. I would guess flat braid or square braid would work for the wick. You can tie a slip knot in the bottom (which will be the top of the taper) and tie the top off with a piece of metal clothes hanger... tight tight. Repeat for each hole, I dont think you can just use one piece of wick and weave it up and down threw each of the holes like you can with a dipping frame.
