Robin29
I have a customer asking about these. Any ideas on how to make them? Schnuggle bar... It's a shea butter bar with powder in it somehow that you rub on your wet warm skin after you bathe. The butter melts into you and leaves a light dust of powder when it dries. It's My favorite bath product in the world.
TexasBrat
It's a product sold by Lush. http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/2383?expand=Skincare:upd=y Sounds pretty cool, although I don't know where to get magnesium carbonate.
RobinInOR
You could probably get pretty close without it.. the main ingredients are Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Cornstarch (Zea mays), Kaolin, Magnesium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate,so it's basically just cocoa butter with cornstarch, baking soda, and clay. TexasBrat
The Chemistry store sells sodium bicarbonate but not magnesium carbonate.
elle110
The Chemistry store sells sodium bicarbonate but not magnesium carbonate.Robin, thats what I was thinking, either leave out the SM or sub it for more of another ingredient...I think I am adding this to my to do list
Amish Ragdoll
The chalk that weightlifters and rock climbers use is Magnesium Carbonate. Go to a sporting goods store and ask for it.
Michi
So basically you're just rubbing yourself down with butter/oil and chalk powder? LOLJust kidding, I used to get this oil from Avon a loo0ooooong time ago, that had cornstarch in it I believe and I loved the silky powdery feeling it left on my skin.Maybe the same feeling you're getting? If that's the case you wouldn't need the weightlifters chalk.
Grumpy Girl
I think you can get magnesium carbonate at the health food store as well.

mbrown
Any ideas as to the purpose of the magnesium carbonate? I was just wondering. I think this will help you when determining how much you would need when creating a recipe.
Robin29
I think tht I am just going to play and see what I come up with. I am sure my customer will be more than happy to test them all out and give me her feedback.
