ILVCANDLES
I was hoping someone could help me to understand why some tarts melt completly and others have some chunks that will not melt? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Candle Man
How are you making them? What wax do you use? What kind of melter do you use them in?
ILVCANDLES
I used mp145 from NG. I made wax crumbles. I put them in a saucer on top of a candle warmer. I have used this wax before as well as the saucer when I made tarts and never noticed a problem. Would the FO have anything to do w/ the problem? Thanks! Fern
That MP145 wax from Nature's Garden is actually OK6228, a pillar/votive wax which is good for making tarts. I'm betting that your candle warmer just isn't hot enough to melt it completely, because the fragrance oil would have nothing to do with how it melts or doesn't melt. How many watts does your warmer have?
ILVCANDLES
The candle warmer is 17W. I guess I am confused because I made regular tarts in the tart mold and they melted fine on warmer. Then I made crumbles w/ the same wax and they did not melt completely? I got my warmers at Michaels and Jo Ann's. If the warmers I am using is not strong enough Watts, where can I buy ones that would be higher in Watts? Thanks! Kassandra
I really don't like yankee candles, but the sell good electric tart warmers. I prefer the one piece deal, not the heating plate with the dish on top. They go for about 20 dollars each.
Fern
Tarts should melt on a warmer that's 17 watts. It makes no sense at all that a whole tart would melt on it, but when you made crumbles, using the same wax, that it wouldn't melt. You got me stumped on that one.:undecided
