candlecrazyinwv
What does everyone use to make votives? Mine are cracking and then making a large melt pool that drowns the wick and puts it out. I am using IGI 4794. I even had the votive in a votive holder and this happened....help! mizbizzyb
I haven't taken the time to make a votive, however I can say that the 4794 wax is more popular for votives.
gingerinarkansas
I use Astorlite V...sometimes I like it...other times I don't but I have no cracking just poor scent throw sometimes. Ginger
pdevine
I use this wax for my votives and haven't had any to "crack". Are they cracking during the burn or when? Give my specific info and maybe someone can help you more. Portia
Accents
I use a different votive wax, but mine cracks too. I use about 2 oz per pound of a container wax with the votive wax, and it helps a lot.

PortiaAbout 3-4 mminutes into the burn it splits down the side and the hot wax melts all over..then as the wax pull fills within about 7-8 minutes it drowns out the flame. I have to make some votive fall baskets and I cannot even perfect this stage LOL
AngelaVA
How are you making them and what wick are you using?
DeeB
I have always used this wax for votives and never have a problem. Does the votive fit tightly in the holder you are using?

Does the votive fit tightly in the holder you are using?Ive only tested them in a dollar tree item. Its a wine glass with a glass shade votive holder. Ill try something tighter. Maybe that will work:cheesy2:
candlecrazyinwv
How are you making them and what wick are you using?44-24-18 wicks:confused:
Scented
I can't imagine a crack in that wax. The 44s are something I only use with heavier FO. Any chance of a picture? I mean votives will eventually spill and fill a glass. How short is your wick or better yet, what fragrance are you using?

Everito Bandito
I think that votives are supposed to liquify. To my knowledge, they aren't supposed to burn like little pillars.
candlesprite7
It sounds like you arent putting it in a tight enough fitting votive holder, It isnt a crack but a spill over, votives will completely liquefy when they are burning, just like container candles.
