Those that are testing 464 wax

Recommended Posts

Just curious if those that have tested the 464 wax and said that the scent was fading the longer you burned it if you found out the problem and are having any better luck with the hot throw. I purchased some week before and am just this weekend getting around to pouring testers. Think I will test with paper core, cotton and CD wicks. Will see what happens. Hope I can get it right because I can pick this wax up and save on shipping.

I am trying 464 am I am having pretty good results with it. I am not having the trouble with scent leaving at half burn. I use CD's 8-12 depending on the fragrance, usually test in 8oz SM.

Let me get this straight, you are useing a CD-8 up to a CD 12 in an 8 oz. square mason? I just want to make sure I am understanding you right cause CD 8 sounds way too tiny and I will be pouring testers this weekend too. If a CD works, then I definatly want to test it, cause the bigger the wick, the more probs I have with these jars.

TIA! :cheesy2:

Sure did not mean to confuse you. I test burn CD wicks starting with 8's all the way up to 20 but most times a CD 10 will work just fine, sometimes a 12 if the oil is heavy. This is 464 no additives. I just make a lot of testers to see what works with a lot of different wicks. I always start with 8's and make a lot of SM testers, burn them side by side to see which one I like the best.

I just got my samples yesterday. Really want to pour them today but since I'm under the weather afraid it may make it worse :undecided I believe I read something about this in the old posts about losing scent half way down? Sounds like it's burning to hot but you never know it could be one of those crazy quirks. Nothing surprises me!

Do let us know how you like it. I would like to make it work too since I can get these waxes local.

Are you using one wick or two?
