knlarson
I tried out some layered container candles this week and the first ones turned out pretty well I think but on my second set, the colors bleed together. I think it was because the wax was hotter when I poured the 2nd and 3rd layers. I kept thinking that this is what I was supposed to do but I'm only supposed to do that on the repour at the end, right? For the first set I forgot to write down my pour temps but the second set it was IGI 1288B 1st layer pour 175, 2nd 185, 3rd 190. I just wanted to make sure that this is my problem so that I can give it a second try today. Thanks for your advice.
eugenia
The hotter temp rule is for free standing candles where the layers will break apart if they do not bond.
