tangerine
A customer asked if I could put a layer of coffee beans in a container candle. I realize it would probably be better to use embeds but wanted to explore this idea first. Is it possible to put about a half inch layer of coffee beans and then crimp the wick above this so the candle stops burning before it gets to the beans? Candle Man
I would not suggest this. What if the melted wax got to the coffee beans, the beans would float in the melted wax comming in contact with the flame and catching fire. The only safe way to use real coffee beans in a jar container would be to double glass like a glass votive in the top of the jar container with the wax and beans around the glass votive holder. Sorta like the pic below only wax instead of gel.
grammafransfixins
You can affix coffee beans to the outside of a pillar candle, where the flame wouldn't reach.Or to the outside of the candle jar, but never mix them in the jar. tangerine
If I crimp the wick about half an inch above the beans, will they still be a hazard? I will look into using double glasses. Thanks!
