Shrinkwrapping Votives

Melly

Recommended Posts

Could someone please give me a detailed description on how to do this without melting the buggers. It seems as soon as i place enough heat on them to move the shrink wrap, it melts the votive. It's also bubbling in ugly patterns rather then being smooth and proffessional looking. I have my heat gun on low, and am lightly moving around the votive from a few inches away. This is the 4 inch shrink wrap tubing from Packco.

i was poking 3 or 4 holes on one side and in the corner, maybe i should do a few more? I have a bunch of votives that need to be remelted and repoured, guess i will practice on those, do you do a second on one side a second on the other and back and forth? or one side at a time? Is low setting the proper setting for the heatgun?

We do a side at a time and then the back and forth stuff to smooth out anything that needs it. I poke like three rows of holes with a pin or needle lol. The heatgun I've got only has one setting. Try holding that gun out a little further and see if it helps any.
