theklacreations
I was wondering if anyone know if the Carmel walnut from Bitter Creek South was gel safe. I was thinking that it would make a neat pie out of it.Thanks,TheklaThekla's Creations
Luci
No, but I just got some unscented walnuts from the classies here and would love to make something like that. Hopefully, someone will answer that or make a suggestion!
skydreamer
I checked with their tech support and they are advising if the flash point is above 170, which is shows on their site the flash to be 200 you can. But you need to do a polarity test to be sure. If it is not polar, it will not be safe. Sorry couldn't help you more.
Doneen
Hi,It needs to be non-polar and over 170 flash point to be safe in gel. Here are some instructions on doing a polarity test:http://www.gelcandlemaking.com/section4.htmlI recommend doing a polarity test on every new batch just to be safe when using fragrance oils that are not specially formulated for gel. Our GelAroma line at BCN is formulated specifically for gel and we test every batch in house just to be safe, but our regular FO's are not tested for gel. HTH!
