CareBear
I saw it in huge bottles in the Lowes I just went and was wondering myself. Not sure the only ingredients are lye and water, though - Roebic brand http://www.roebic.com/pdf/ProfessionalStrengthLiquidDrainOpenerMSDS.pdf - Liquid Drain Opener provides the extra clog busting power of 28% sodium hydroxide (caustic soda).ETA: I just sent an e-mail to the company asking if lye and water are the only ingredients or if others have been added. I'll let you know what (if) I hear back.
Bunny
I remember reading about this one, I though it was a 22% solution of lye to 88% water, which is way to high for most soap recipies. Don't quote me on it, I'm straining my brain to remember!
KJohnson
Well the lye I am talking about is actually from my husbands work. he has large amts of it... So I will have to check with him and see if he can get me the ingredients on it.
CareBear
And the brand name and the MSDS if possible. I LOVE information!
RobinInOR
If it's liquid you're going to have to do some math to figure out the correct amount to use to get the correct amount of sodium hydroxide. But if you get the dilution rate and it doesn't have anything else in there you can probably figure it out. Make sure it's sodium hydroxide in solution, not potassium hydroxide.
