TerriWV
I made this today, it is a first attempt with powdered buttermilk. I wanted a brighter purple, and at first it looked gray, but it is looking more purple as it sets. I tried something a bit different for me, I took some uncolored base out to swirl with, and colored the rest of the batch. This one, I swirled in the log mold, never done that before either, so it might not go clear to the bottom.
Grumpy Girl
I haven't tried powedered BM before but I've thought about it. It looks great. It's been my experience that colors change especially if you're using select shades or another liquid. We demand larger photos to be able to drool over the soap porn properly though. Purple Lilac
It looks very pretty, sometimes my purple looks on the gray side as well but it does turn purple. Can't wait to see it cut.
RobinInOR
Pretty! I've always used powdered buttermilk in my Buttermilk Bar, since I keep it around to make Irish Soda Bread. The milk discolors a little, that's probably what you're seeing.

TerriWV
This one made my whole house smell like lavender after it was cut. I am not happy with this one either. It doesn't have holes like the JMC, but it did partly gel, and looks horendous. The plain soap didn't go all the way through either. BUT, that just leaves more for me to use. Other than the swirls were crap, and the gel makes it look bad, it didn't turn out bad...lolI'll post pics later this evening, I just got home from work. TerriWV
The plain soap did go through, just not the way I was hoping. This is one batch for me.
