ebarnes
How much is too much? I colored 4lbs of wax last night. According to the bottle I should have used 56 drops of dye, thats 14 drops per pound. Just seems like too much. Im sure Peaks test thier products.

dandelion garden
I rarely use more than 7 drops per lb of wax. If you need it a really deep, dark shade you might consider using a toothpick end sized drop of brown with your other color.
SheilaW
Can't remember where I read it but I'm thinking it was 10 drops max. per lb. for liquid dye. I think that may be because of the chemical smell. I know I have used more than that trying to achieve a bright red without any ill affects.
Vicky_CO
I use Peak's Dyes and I have never had to use 14 drop to get a dark red. Plus there are other ways to darken a color up beside using so much adding a touch of black or brown will darken up your colors.
ebarnes
7 drops gives me a deep red. I was using yellow that required 14 drops per pound.
Georgia
Sometimes my memory scares me. I remember Alan saying something about a lot of dye before it affects the burn. I found the post.http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8289&highlight=drops
