idahospud
I have never seen a frosted square mason jar. Not sure they make them. Would be nice if they did though.
ah-soy
I bought a candle in one today and it looks so great. Maybe this company has them specially made. I'm trying to fing the manufacturer of the candle on the web but so far no luck. Anyone ever heard of Evergreen & Ivy in Fayetteville AR? Grumpy Girl
I don't know, and have never seen a frost square mason, but the smooth sided ones can be had at wick n wax in gladewater tx. I have a few cases of the smooth sided lying here if you are intersted in them. I decided to go with the regular square masons instead. CallawayCandle
You could frost the jars yourself if you wanted that look really really bad. I think it would probably be a PITA but if you like them that much it is an idea. Heather
ah-soy
CC, how do you do frosting? Not that I would have the talent for it, just didn't know it was possible!
CallawayCandle
They make something that you can rub on glass that gives it a frosted look like etching. They sell it at most craft stores I can't tell you what its called because I don't know. HTH Heather

Ring of Fire
Wow she sells those sugar shakers cheap. I used to make them all the time and sold them for $10.00. Pretty candle jars she has and all very reasonably priced.
stephsteph
They are probably specially made for them. Hanna's is the company that makes all those candles you see on QVC that Valerie Parr Hill sells.
Grumpy Girl
Hanna's also makes the soy line we have at work. They suck and burn something awful, but because they smell good, they fly off the shelves.
ah-soy
GG, I discovered that. Burned the one I bought today and almost no hot throw. Now if I could just find those darn jars and lids I could top that!
Grumpy Girl
Do you have a pic of it?
jakalex
I saw this on a site and this is what they used to frost glass with:Krylon Glass Interior Frosting Spray
Grumpy Girl
I'd be more than a little concerned using a flammable paint or chemical for a candle jar. Ya think?
jakalex
You are probably right! That would be a bad idea!:undecided
Candle Man
They sell under the name Evergreen & Ivy™ to Wal-Mart.Ya, they are a huge company with poor quality candles. If I ever get that big I will never cut corners on quality, that's why my products sell because of quality. Candle Man
About the frosting...You can use Armour Etch glass etching cream. It's not a frosting paint it will etch the glass. You can find it at Michales & Hobby Loby.It is very easy to use and you can re-use it but it is kind of pricey. Here is one site with info about it http://www.delphiglass.com/index.cfm?page=itemView&itemSYSid=147410&source=froogleHere is a google search for more sites http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=RNWE,RNWE:2005-45,RNWE:en&q=armour+etch+glass+etching+cream
ah-soy
Do you have a pic of it?I don't but will try to take one tomorrow. I'm too tired to pick up my camera
ah-soy
Thanks to all for the frosting ideas...think I'm too lazy for all that. I'll just use the clear smooth sided 8oz for now. Details until I can take a pic:The top label says The Hills of Tuscany/Hillside; the scent is Pumpkin Nutmeg Spice. The color is a very deep orange/terracotta (their colors were gorgeous and included ivory, deep sage green, deep orchid etc. all fall colors) They got me with their colors, jar and lid! The warning label includes the Evergreen & Ivy info and I bought it at Joann's.Thanks again everyone!
