npsmama Posted July 17, 2006 Share Posted July 17, 2006 I’m pleased with my soap but it doesn’t look appealing. I poured it into a cardboard box lined with baking parchment. The top looks like uneven fudge. I’ve cut it into rectangles but it doesn’t look pretty.I don’t want to buy any special molds. Does anyone have any ideas please? You can always trim, which usually helps, but if the recipe dries out too much before being poured, it's almost impossible to make look pretty, no matter how much you trim. The same goes for it being too dried out from overcooking. I only do HP and these have happened to me more times than I'd like to admit. A super gloopy recipe may take a bit longer to firm up, but if it's not too moist (where it is just squishy), it can look a lot prettier.
