Fisherman's Soap Alternative?

Ok Iwas going to make my hubby a fisherman's soap (CP) with Anise EO but now he would rather have a gel--hand soap. Can I just add the Anise to the base I have? Has anybody ever done this?

I add Anise Eo to a liquid soap I make. So I don't see why not
