CareBear Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Tomorrow I am going to make some Jasmine scented soap. Jasmine is just my favorite scent in the world.I have Peak's Jasmine FO - what level would you all recommend? Any words of advice - like does it accelerate or anything? And what color? White? Yellow?I am not quite sure what recipe I'm using. Maybe:anola 10%Coconut 20%Lard 35%Olive 20%Castor 5%PKO 10%This give me:Hardness 41Cleansing 20Conditioning 53Fluffy 24Stable 26Iodine 56INS 151 Quote
Carrie Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 If you are using a Peak FO, this is the first place I look to see how it reactshttp://www.candletech.com/cgi-local/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=bathandbody;action=display;num=1086889010Then I look herehttp://scentreviewboard.obisoap.ca/index.php?sid=fb960e040e012121ccc954387363862bThen I also sometimes try herehttp://www.thescentreview.com/board/index.phpAs for the color of a soap or candle, that is entirely up to you. I've never seen a Jasmine so I would use google images to find a jasmine and decide from there. As for your recipe, I've never soaped with Canola so I don't know about that. I use coconut, lard, castor and PKO, along with other oils in all of my soaps except castille. I believe that coconut, lard, olive and pko can all be considered hard oils. If so that would make 85% of your recipe hard oils. That is probably a little high. I could be wrong on the lard as a hard oil though. Olive is liquid but makes a rock hard bar so can be considered a hard oil. Quote
CareBear Posted July 7, 2006 Author Posted July 7, 2006 thank you! I knew scent reviews were out there bud didn't kow exactly where. Can anyone tell me about swirling with Micas? I'm thinking of just leaving the soap white and doing a nice mica swirl... Quote
