nayarx8 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Ok, I want to make a whipped FBB concoction for my 11 month old daughter (who has eczema). What would be better for her dry skin; cocoa butter or shea butter? And, which oil; grapeseed, almond, or olive? Or, a combo of any of these?Im going to do it unscented and undyed to make it as gentle as possible. Any thoughts?TIA, Linaya Quote
CareBear Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I would actually avoid the "F" part. SLSa is irritating to my son's (eczema) skin. Quote
nayarx8 Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Really? NUTS!!! That was the fun part! Hmmm... wonder what I can make for her? Quote
CareBear Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 bath jellies? fizzy bath melts with shea butter (Bunnie's)? Bath bombs if you are talented and patient...But don't let her eat them! Quote
nayarx8 Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Im definitely not talented when it comes to bath bombs, so that idea is out. What is in bath jellies? Quote
CareBear Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27098&page=2&highlight=jellyuse a mild soap I guess - didn't realize it was with bubble bath! Quote
nayarx8 Posted July 4, 2006 Author Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks, Carol! I tried a similar recipe this morning, and so far Im impressed. I could just use Ava's baby soap in the bath jelly mixture, couldnt I? Quote
daniedb Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 Hey! Henry struggled with eczema for his first two years (just now growing out of it, yippee!) and I came up with a balm that I put on his troubled spots. I used UNrefined shea (so it still has all the good skin nutrients), avocado butter, borage oil, EPO, wheatgerm and emu oils. I can post the exact recipe if you'd like, it cleared him up within a day or two, and during the cooler months, when it got worse, I would just put it on every day right before the jammies, it helped a TON. Let me know if you want it! Quote
CareBear Posted July 5, 2006 Posted July 5, 2006 I'm going to try to make it tonight if I don't pass out first! I need some sleep! Quote
