Wickless Candles

Can wickless jar candles be made out of a harder wax, such as a votive wax? Ginger

I have more votive wax than I do container wax and I don't use it as much so I thought maybe it would work wickless. It might look ugly when it starts melting since it doesn't adhere to the jar. Ginger

You can but it doesn't make an attractive candle. It's not a one pour wax so it will cave in once it cools down the first time. Plus it will pull away from the sides and look like a colored brick stuck in the jar. (Don't ask how I know this)

One thing - your warmer may not get hot enough to fully melt the candle since votive waxes have a higher mp than container. It also won't look as nice and may fall out of the container or at least rattle around in there. Personally, I would go with a good one-pour container wax instead.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to use up some of my votive wax but so much for that idea. Ginger
