Sally Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Does anyone use soy pillar blend in silicone/latex moulds?Would adding CB to PB help make it less brittle so easier to get out of the mould, or would beeswax be a better addition?I'd like to know if it's possible before I try to get a mould made for me ( I'd rather not use a two part mould.)TIASally. Vicky_CO Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Well I have found that if they are not super detailed soy pillar blend will come out great but if you want to make a rose not a good idea. Here is a list of the things I make with soy PBall most al the fruits and berries.dog bones and pawscini bunsbasic flower if they are not too detailedJanet's adult moldbunny things I can't make any of my roses, my large Lily, my wedding cakes all of these have too much detail and petals or beads will break off almost always. Any thing with some thin parts like the petals of a rose you will have serious problem with breakage when demolding. My pie crust are about 75% that will survive about 25% that don't seem to make it. I don't make my pie crust in soy mainly for the shear amount of time I have to spend unmolding them. I would rather use BW. Quote
Sally Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 Thanks Vicky,I'm thinking of getting a globe made with the continents in relief so there wont be any especially delicate areas, not sure if a globe can be made in silicone but I'm going to ask Janet.Sally. Quote
