ChrisR Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Sounds like you may be using the MMS calculator.......not sure, as you don't say. But if it is the MMS one, over on the right hand side lists the superfat percentages.......I usually use 5% and that is where your lye amout is....after the 5%..........should be somewhere around 2.3 oz., but check your calculator to be sure. friendlyMOM Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 that did not work was trying to paste it, okay now im getting scared of this soap thing, the lye calculator has me baffled, Im hoping I just add it all up but that seems like alot of lye Quote
jwahlton Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 If you're using MMS then it tells you how much lye to use as well as how much liquid to use. You want to use around the 5 mark for lye. Then for water I'd use the lye x 2.5 Quote
Michi Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Don't feel bad friendlymom, I'm still confused about those dang calcs, all of them are just over my head for some reason. I had to have some just figure a recipe out for me, give me all the calculations so I could just make the dang soap already. LOLI hope YOU can figure it out sweetie, cuz I know it's sooo frustrating.
