friendlyMOM Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I wanted to try a different type of container wax than my usual and was wondering if anyone knew where to get eather a small sample or smaller amounts of container wax before I buy large amounts Quote
judyvega Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 http://greenleafcandlesupply.com/natural_waxes.htmYou might try them. A lot of peep (including me) got a sample awhile back from them and I haven't heard a bad review about them yet. I haven't used mine yet, but I expect nothing but good things. hth Quote
AngelaVA Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I would post in the classifieds and see if someone will send you a few lbs of the waxes you want to try. Quote
scrubzz Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Just about every supplier who sells wax also sells 10 lb. sample slabs for testing purposes. I have just about always ordered a slab of wax to test before ordering cases. My suggestion would be to do as I did - Read and search here on the board about the various waxes and when you see one that interests you go to the supplier nearest you and order a slab of it to test. I try and get my sample slabs from the same supplier I will be ordering the wax from later. If you don't know who the suppliers are who are nearest you, you can google a wax by it's name and come up with a large number of supplers who carry it - from there just see who has the best price (including shipping) and go with that.Because of it's weight and the shipping costs that come along with it, on an item such as wax you need to figure out the total cost before ordering - I had priced a bulk order of wax from the supplier nearest me once and even though they were nearest me, the total cost would have been more than ordering from further away from another supplier! Even though they are headquartered in a neighboring state, they were going to charge me sales tax. With their higher price per lb than the others, plus sales tax, plus their shipping, it was going to cost me quite a bit more per lb. than a supplier who was several hundred miles further away! Quote
