tyru007 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Using ecosoya CB Pure with a very small smount of soy based dye and 1 oz/ lb FO into a 4 oz tin. Using ECO wicks No. 6 and No 8. Both the No. 6 and No 8 wicks give a good melt pool and scent throw but both wicks tends to drown out after a couple hours of use. The flame never goes out, but gets very dim. I typically need to pour off a little wax to keep it going. Sides of the container are somewhat clean with little tunneling on the side away from the curl of the wick. Obviously the No. 8 does a better job of cleaning the sides than the 6. I would think the eco 10 would be a torch in this size candle. Is there any better wicks to try in a pure soy wax? (I was thinking of tring the HTP wicks)Thanks Quote
Sab Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 The HTP wicks work well for me in the tins. I'm using a parasoy blend. Maybe try a 73? I use the 83 in the 8 oz tin. Quote
xsami3000x Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I'm using ecosoya 135 and have found a lx 16 or lx 18 works with the fos I've tried so far.Sami Quote
dandelion garden Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I use Ecosoya CB Adv in 6 oz tins. I use mostly HTP 73s- some need a 83. Quote
Stella1952 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 We used CDN wicks from JBN for our tins of Cargill C-3 and found that we could effectively use 10, 12 and 14. Quote
