Michi Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Ok I just rec'd a sample of this FO (Thanks Danielle ) and OMG I just have to make some soap for my man and my daughter's man with this-it is soooo dang yummy!! I received a bar of HP in this scent from one of the swaps I was in and she did hers red and tan, but I don't have either of those colors. I'm just wondering if any of you have used this and what colors come to mind-more manly colors preferbly. Also, is there a way to make brown from primary colors? I don't think I have any REAL red, I have a violet red, and orange red, a bright blue, and a navy blue, green, yellow, fuschia, orange, gold mica, but I think that's about it. Any ideas?? Quote
Purple Lilac Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I have some but haven't used it yet - you could trycoloring it with spices ( cinn, nutmeg and clove makes soap different shades of brown), they give a nice "earthy" effect. Quote
Sara Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 When I think Peppercorn I think grey and black. I could be thinking of something else, but didn't someone post a color wheel, or color mixing chart, recently? Quote
Crafty1_AJ Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Tan or a muted, earthy gold. Or with a warm brown swirl. Think earthy colors. ETA: To make brown, you can mix green and red. Or red, yellow and blue if you don't have any green. Quote
lindsaycb Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 There are red/pink peppercorns too. When I do it, I keep it natural and thread just a little bit of a deep red oxide through it...then add poppy seeds. That way , I have some black, some red & some natural white to go with it too. Quote
Bunny Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Hey Scented, how do you make mottled soap??? Or is that the ricing you were referring to... (ducks and hides!) Quote
