gingerinarkansas
Last week I pour several 16 oz. mason jars. I poked the relief holes and forgot about them until I found them today. Can I just fill them or would I need to melt down and start over? Please advise. I think I need to slow my life down and pay attention to what I'm doing. Smokin'Hot
I don't see why not-as long as the wax that is in the jar already has adhered properely. Try one and see how it goes, but I really think you should be just fine.
gingerinarkansas
I noticed that some of them have wet spots...I use J223. If it has pulled away from jar then stick in oven...melt down...and start over?
cindym
You really don't have to poke relief holes with this wax in containers.
OutlandishLady
I'd heat gun the whole thing and then pour once it has set up again.
Freezin
Yep, I agree with Cindy, you shouldn't have to poke relief holes with this wax or with most of the container waxes. But, that said, I think should be able to just fill the holes and be fine. I would definately try one of them and see. It would be a lot faster and better to be able to not have to melt them down. Anna
If you have a heat gun, just use the gun to heat the wax on top to fill the holes, and heat the sides if you don't like the wet spots. The wet spots don't brother me,I have learned to accept them. gingerinarkansas
I always poke relief holes in any thing over 10 oz. size. I burned one once that I hadn't and it burned straight down and then it was hollow. I am just afraid of this happening again. What am I doing wrong? I pour around 160. Fern
I too have experienced the occassional air pocket with J223 and J50. Because of this, I have resorted to poking a few relief holes so that I don't have to remelt them. I didn't had this problem until recently when I used containers over 8 or 9 ounces. fredron
I've never had a hole in any size container using these waxes. Make sure you pour at right around 150 degrees, and warm the jar. I pour 6 oz, 16 oz, and 24 oz containers-never had a hole, and never had to poke relief holes. However with your current problem, use the heat gun & blend the tops in.
