or for that matter any bontanical. The last time I did Lavender and Rose Petals they both turned BLACK! :sad2: So besides discounting the water how should I handle the mold after I pour. Leave it exposed to the air, add OP, cover w/ saran, cover w/ just towels.......

Also how long after pouring can I stick a mold in the oven? I pour one 1/2 hr ago, if I decide to put it in the oven am I too late?? TIA :)

It has been my experience also that lavender and rose petals both turn black on CP soap. I really think it has to do with the lye, but most people don't mind. I would leave it exposed - but that is just me (someone may think different and I hope they come along to help ya out)

From start to finish, our soap tends to sit on the counter until we are ready to put it in the oven - sometimes an hour, so I would bet you would be ok :)

I personally wouldn't put one with botanicals in the oven. I do a deep water discount and put a layer on top, and I've never had them turn black this way.

You can also soap as normal, without the additives. The next day, paint a thin clear layer of M&P on the top of your log/slab and quickly put the flowers on top of that.
