evilsprig
I want to try making some chunk pillars. I will be using a 2 3/4 x 6 1/2 spiral octagon mold. I realize that after I have stuffed the mold with chunks, I will need much less wax for the overpout than I would for an ordinary pillar, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark figure as to how much? TIA!
eugenia
Simple. Calculate your total weight for the mold (fill with water, weigh the water). Subtract the weight of the chunks and the remainder is what is needed for the overpour. Add a touch for wiggle room if you wish.
Janette
Definately a ballpark, but I would shoot for 2/3, or maybe 3/4 lbs. So hard to guess, so many variables, size of chunks, amount of space between chunks. Trial and error will be your best gauge. Hope that helps.CheersJanette
