Hurricane curving in on sides

Recommended Posts

I just made a hurricane. My first attempt with actual wax made for hurricanes (second attempt at embedding a photo). It is cooling now and my two of my sides are curving in. I am using a square hurricane mold from Peak. Does anybody know what causes this? It is making a curved side and pulling away from the mold.

Don't pour the wax out.....just add more to it as it sinks. Bring it back to the top....then wait until you have the thickness you want and THEN pour it out. Adding wax when it first cools keeps it from shrinking. That's what I meant. You all know that is why I have posted so many pictures. A picture is worth a thousand words. Do you see what I mean now?
