TartAddict
Hi all!I've got some tarts that are super hard to get out of the warmer (even when plopped in the freezer). I'm wondering if I make my tarts with a few E-Z Wax Release pellets (from Michael's) if they would release better. Thought I would get your opinions before I go buy the pellets Thanks!D
Tess
Well I have never used them but judging by the name I am guessing it would work. Why are your tarts so hard to get out of the melter? They should just pop right out.
eugenia
The mold release pellets work great! Add 1/2 tsp pp of wax.e
TartAddict
Thanks guys I've been using my leftover container wax or my votive wax for tarts...and they are hard to get out (container wax is the worst). I'll give the pellets a whirl. Thanks so much D
Tess
Ahh well then in that case that would do. I use my left over wax to make tarts also, I add votive wax to my container wax. If you make votives or pillars you could do the same.
TartAddict
Thanks, Tess I have mixed them before, but I thought I would try the waxes on their own and see how they did...and they stuck
eugenia
Thanks, Tess I have mixed them before, but I thought I would try the waxes on their own and see how they did...and they stuck I would think the container wax might stick even with the mold release; just too soft. Did you try popping the burner in the freezer? That always works for me.e
TartAddict
Yup Popped it into the freezer and it still stuck...I did mix the container wax with stearic to harden it up..didn't really work to well. Oh well, live and learn D
Tess
Thats what candlemaking is ALL about!! IF you have any Fisher Trop or Translucent Crystals, that would work better than stearic.
TartAddict
Boy I tell ya! Everyone always said, "Oh tarts are so easy". Ummm...no. I just make them for me (and a few neighbors), but I want them absolutely perfect!! Thanks for the advice on the Fisher Trop and Translucent Crystals. I've never even heard of those......new things to research What would I do without you guys!!D
Tess
They are the same thing, and Candlewic has it. It makes your wax way harder than stearic. I use it for my hurricanes to give them that "extra" hardness.
TartAddict
Thanks, Tess I will definitely give it a try!! The stearic made it a bit harder, but still pretty smeary and of course stuck to the warmer! Thanks!!
