Regina Filange
Hi guys!I can never seem to get a rustic to come out properly.I'm using 1343A wax, adding 1/2 teaspoon vybar 103, 3 Tablespoons Stearic and .75oz. of FO per pound of wax (also a touch of UV and couple drop of liquid color). I'm in a 67 degree room so the aluminum mold is fairly cool to the touch and I pour at 145 degrees. I pour the first few ounces and splash it around, wait a several moments and then quickly fill the mold the rest of the way. When I remove the candle from the mold, it's only rustic on the top inch or so, then the rest of the candle is smooth and solid. The closest I've ever come to making a fully rustic candle is if I freeze the mold first, but then they come out more frosted than rustic. What am I doing wrong? TIA, ~RF~
Scented
So what do you get without using the vybar 103?
Connie
You don't need the vybar. No splashing. Leave the vybar out and just pour around 140 into molds at room temp.
Regina Filange
So what do you get without using the vybar 103?The same thing. I only use it so I can increase the scent some. I still don't use much fo.
Scented
Well pour cooler and axe the vybar, because it tends to oh get rid of bubbles and help provide a smooth surface finish. The amount of steric you're using (3 Tablespoons) should be enough to hold .75 oz of scent, because it holds what I use just fine lol.
