Guest EMercier
Does anyone have a recipe using Soy Milk? It's not powdered. Also, if I use Soy milk in place of water, I know to freeze it first, but do you just add the lye to it and then to your oils once it reaches the right temp? Thanks! Gypsyjen
Haven't used soy milk, but for my goat's milk I just keep it in the fridge until I'm ready to dump the lye in. I don't freeze it.

singleyellowrose
I have!Freeze it into cubes like you would for regular milk. Remember, it doesn't contain as much fat as animal milks, so you would have to compensate for that.Normally what i do is, freeze the cubes. Weight out what i need. My normal lye is 4%, but when I use a veggie milk, I make it 5%. FYI: IT stinks WORSE than soaping animal milks!

I'll try it this weekend. So, what you are saying is that I measure out the milk first and then freeze? Add the lye to it and then mix with my oils. Is there a certain temperature it should be?Doesn't it feel good though and make a creamy bar in the end? I hope so, well we'll see.
