ebarnes
I was told that the candle had 3 layers and that most people test burn just the top layer, this does not give you accurate results (makes sense). I guess my question is why does the candle have 3 layers, I have notice that once my candles are about 2/3 burned the wick always drowns. Soya
Sorry....I don't know anything about layers but.....my wicks used to drown around that time also. I was adding too much FO. Went down a few % and that fixed it for me. HTH.
Vicky_CO
I guess you could say it had 3 layers it is more of what happens inside the jar and the air flow of a jar. As you burn down further in you candle a couple of thing happen your glassware heats up faster and the heat inside the jar is increased and your air flow begins to be restricted. Now where I notice the most problems is the half way point. If it is going to mess up on me that is usually the point it happens. When I test burn a candle I burn the whole thing all the way to the bottom.
