Smokin'Hot
Hey everone!I'vd been asked to make some votives for a wedding reception. My question is does everyone get a votive at each place setting? I say "yes" but the bride says "no, just the ladies!" What do you all think?ThanksLori
Trae
I've never seen "just the ladies" getting favors. It's either been each place setting or each couple or single person attending. Guess it's up to the bride!
Blest2BAmerican
The weddings I've been to have favors out for each person. Seems strange that she only wants them for the ladies unless she has something else in mind for the men.
AngelaVA
That's strange. Everyone should get a favor (or no favors should be given ). If she doesn't want to give the men candles, she should at least give them something else.
Scented
Well I think you do what the bride wants lol! Now maybe the groom would want to do the same. Hard to say.
Melly
It is usually one favour per person. I have seen males and females get different gifts. My aunt did do one favour per couple, but it was a small family wedding and all the couples lived together, the favours were full size candy dishes packed full of chocolates. Tallbabydoll
IMO "The customer is always right." You don't know what the bride is thinking. I'd make what she orders, and not worry about the men. If they go without thats not your problem, it's hers. I hope that doesn't sound rude, I don't mean it to be. I'm just saying don't worry yourself needlessly.
mystical_angel1219
Honestly, the bride sounds tacky. Men love candles too.I cannot imagine not providing enough favors for everyone. Unless she has other plans for the male guests. Strange indeed.
ajl
I made some votives as wedding favours for my cousin last year and she only had them for the ladies and got something else for the men (can't remember what now).
OFCILynn
Hi, Just my two cents worth. After doing my daughters entire wedding in Sept. and now doing my own wedding renewal, I make sure that each guest has a favor!! You can have something per couple but NO ONE should be left out. You really should ask and see if the bride is going to have something else for the men or if she just doesnt know how wedding receptions work and thinks that only the women should get a favor! Just remember that it is HER wedding and whatever she wants, thats what she should get but again, she may not be educated in how these things work so I would ask her and then make recommendations! Good Luck and be sure to post pics with whatever you both decide to do!God Bless, OFCILynn
