Guest EMercier
When doing all the research, I've seen people pour at different traces. Just curious to see what everyone pours their CP. When do you normally add FO and additives and well as swirl? I did mind at a light trace. Those are the pictures I posted about a week ago. Sara
Just curious to see what everyone pours their CP. If swirling, then I pour with a lighter trace. It makes it easier to make patterns in the soap. If layering, thicker. Then do you normally add FO and additives and well as swirl? It depends. If you have a discoloring FO, sometimes you only add it to part of the batch (like if you reserve a few cups for swirling, you might not add it to that part, or vice versa). Usually additives are added to the entire batch. For example, when I add cream, I put it in the soap after bringing it to a light trace. Hope that helps a bit. donna4909
I use FO & color at light trace, and I usually to pour at a thin trace too. It just makes it easier for me. I don't have a stick blender, so I alternate with a hand mixer and a whisk. A thick trace takes too long to do by hand.
CranberryGirl
I have been poring Mine at a thick trace...Don't know why..But i guess i figure it is all mixed by then!!!LOL!!!
Gene
As long as everything is mixed, no oil floating, pour. For crisp swirls I pour at medium. If you want some blending, pour light.
cindym
I usually pour at a lighter trace to make swirling easier but if I am adding oatmeal, or scrubbies I get it pretty thick so things don't sink to the bottom. With finicky fo's like ocean I add the fo to the warm oils(Thanks Gene) and it moves pretty fast so I have my color ready, even if it clumps I stick blend the tar out of it and it usually works.
