Cross-stitch
Hi. I saw this wax at the store I usually buy my waxes from. However, I've never seen this and was wondering if any of you have ever used Ozokerite Wax? I was curious about the possibility of using this on my Solid Perfume instead of Candelilla Wax. Looks like all waxes seem to be going up in price and this would be a little less in price. This is why I'm wondering. Thanks!!!
TallTayl
I've only seen it used as a small % in cosmetics. Ozokerite is a descriptive term that can be several different blends of micro/petro/hydrocarbons if that is important to you or your customers. Here's what S&P has to say about it: Ozokerite Wax (SP-2304) | Strahl & Pitsch (spwax.com) And from Making Cosmetics where it is stocked in smaller quantities: Ozokerite Wax 332 | MakingCosmetics TKB stocks what seems like a different blend with higher melt points: Ozokerite Wax - DIY Beauty & Cosmetics - DIY Skincare | TKB Trading Humblebee & Me has built a nice reputation for testing ingredients in small batch experiments. She did ozokerite here: A Quick Guide to Ozokerite Wax and Liquid Oil Ratios - Humblebee & Me (humblebeeandme.com)
Cross-stitch
Hmm. Not so sure about using this wax, looks like it melts very easily. Plus, almost looks like it'd be hard to get it to solidify totally anyway. Thanks for the info TT!!! Looks like I'll keep looking...
TallTayl
The hard part in waxes like this is getting it to melt in the first place. It may be nice in a blend but not as a stand alone.
