Grani L
Could anyone help out here please? These candles are 6006 wax in a 8 oz. Tin. 8% Fragrance - Baby Powder. Wicks the one in the front with the ugly wick, is an HTP 93. The two in the back with the tall flames are HTP 104. Why are the flames so high? I let them burn about 2 hours, and they finally tamed down to a very reasonable height. With that being said, I have 2 more tester Tumbler Jars with Premier Wicks. The same thing with Mount Everest Flame heights is going on. But in this case, after 2 hours, the flames did not die down. I actually pulled them out and put in smaller sizes but the same thing is going on. One very Vanilla FO 6% and the other Botanical Orchard and Nectar 8%. Any ideas? I have double wicked jars using premier wicks from the same batch of wax, and they are burning like a champ. What gives?
NightLight
Premiers should work, I love in parasoy waxes. You might want to try CDN wicks aand see if those work with the wax. Burn for 3 hours
Grani L
The smaller premiers work really well in a double wicked jar. (3.75") I honestly think it is the wax - it seems to be really hard to burn with single wicks. I am waiting for some Eco's to come in. Its just crazy. I put smaller wicks in and they burn beautifully, but of course, they reach no where near the edges, yet burn perfectly. Put in the correct size, and the flames let you know not to mess with 'em. They may get better when it reaches FMP and that is if it feels like it. But I will definitely try the CDN's and see how they act. Thank You. birdcharm
Maybe try doing a search on here for your wax ... I've never used that wax, but it seems as though I've seen it mentioned that zinc core wicks work well with it, that's a cooler burning wick, so it might be more tame. Also, I think someone mentioned using RRDs with it and having success.
