Regina Filange
What's the diff between Vybar 103 and Universal Additive? Don't they both do the same thing? It seems that UA would be more difficult to use since you have to melt seperately before adding to the wax, or reach 184 or higher. Are there any other differences?TIA~RF~
Scented
Looks to me that one of the differences is UA doesn't increase the opacity of the wax as much as vybar does. And I've always melted my UA with the wax, not separately.
LRC06301983
Vybar is a polymer that can be added to wax to help the fragrance oil bind to the wax. There are 3 types, for solid candles (103), container candles (260) and mottled candles (343).With the exception of 343, vybar will make your candles opaque.http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1912Universal Additive also has some stuff in it that helps the candle release from the mold. Dustpuuppy
A couple of people reported that the UA seemed to either cause or aggravate fingernailing problems.
