votives

I found the best way to make lots of votives at once. You take the little plastic dixie cups and pour your wax in to those. Then wick them when the wax is starting to cool. When the candle is totally hardened you can put them in the freezer for about 20 minutes or so. Then take them out and pop the candle out from the bottom. The only bad thing is that the dixie cup can not be reused, but you can get like 80 of them for about a dollar. I did this to get ready for one of the festivals I went to last year. In about 3 weeks I made a little over a thousand votives.

I "hear" everyone talking about how the got their free wax samples. Could someone please tell me how that's possible? As someone new to candle making it would be a great way for me to try out different waxes (w/o the hubby strangling me for spending money). :P

I know Candlewic will send you free samples if you call them and ask. You might have to pay shipping, but I never do..LOL.

I could be wrong but I think most places will send you a sample if you call....
