singleyellowrose
I zapped this with my heat gun to smooth out the top and that "hole" appeared.
Jcandleattic
Looks like an air bubble that popped with the heat but didn't fill in. Zap it again to fill it in and it should be fine. HTH
ChrisR
It's an air bubble. I don't poke relief holes while the jar is setting up, because you can't insure you get all the trapped air! I wait till it is totally set up, then poke relief holes and heat gun it. I'd rather take a few extra minutes to ensure there are no caverns lurking, then chance someone get a candle that just doesn't measure up! singleyellowrose
Ah ha! So that's the reason to poke relief holes! Thanks you 2.I even poured that sucker slowly, hoping to NOT get them! How many am i supposed to poke? I know these may sound like stupid questions and i know that wick isn't centered either, but I'm still learning! It's an air bubble. Jcandleattic
I don't poke holes in my container candles, so I can't help you on that one. I only poke them in my pillars and with my pillar wax. HTH
wonderfullywicked
I 'tap' my containers on the counter after pouring. It seems to help.
ChrisR
I poke an area about 1/4" on both sides of the wick and that seems to take care of any lurking air spaces.
singleyellowrose
Thanks Chris..next try will be tapping AND relief holes if necessary!
Christy Doc Holley
looks like it was an air bubble some times I like the heatgun and some times I don't lol
singleyellowrose
Well.. this was a tester blend I did and i do NOT like it at all. There's air bubbles everywhere..as it's burning, more are showing up. I haven't ever had that happen before and since this wax blend isn't playing nice, I will stick with what blend i was doing.
