Angela0085
Hi What wick do you suggest when using silicone molds ? And is there like a putty I can put around the outside of the wick so the wax doesn’t leak out? All tips are appreciated! Many thanks
TallTayl
All of the silicone molds (and similar molds made of urethane) required spooled wicks. I specialize in beeswax, and use bleached square. You’ll need to adapt the wick series for the wax you prefer to mold with. Pillar Soy I’d lean toward CD, palm I’d lean toward CSN, for instance. the silicone and urethane were always made thick enough, and with a small hole to thread the wick snugly, so they did not need any sealant. If the holes become torn, or worn to no longer seal, a little high temp metal tape (found in the automotive aisles for mufflers, or heating duct aisle in home improvement stores) usually sealed well enough. CandleCocoon
I agree, I have never needed anything to stop up the hole in silicone molds. I have on occasion not rubber banded the two halves tightly together, but that is another story....
