LilLizzie
I have a few extra jars left over with wax in them and I was wondering what the proper why of getting the wax out? Also where do you find cheap jars? I go to Fairway Glass. Is there anywhere else cheaper?I've also heard with soy candles some of you only use them in jar candles, or am I wrong? Cause whenever I make a mold after a while after burning them they crack. thanks everyone Liz
Rachael
To get the leftover wax out I set my oven to warm and sit the jars upside down on a cookie sheet that is covered with news paper and it melts right out then I wash with hot soapy water .HTH
scentlady
if there's a lot of wax in the jar I would put he jars upright in the warm oven on a cookie sheet and pour out the wax (NOT down the sink) when it melts. You might try jarstore.com but anywhere you can pick up containers, like Wal-mart, you'll save a lot on shipping. angiebaby
I put the jar in some simmering water and melt the way you would with a double boiler. I then pour out the wax, into a can or milk carton, and toss into the trash. Wipe out with paper towel.
Purple Lilac
I have even set jars with left over wax in them, out in the sun - I get the same effect as putting them in the oven.
maryann
W:shocked2:w there's lots of neat ways! I put mine on the tart warmer, as a bonus it loosens the wick sticker as well. Good point scentlady not to pour down the drain as it will CLOG!! HTH
Gypsyjen
The tart warmer is a great idea. I use a plastic spatula to scrape out what I can, then heat the jar with a heat gun and wipe out the remnants with paper towels.
