Elliebaby
Hello! ive been using C3 at around 160-165 pour with not much issues. Smooth too and all. Previously had issues with around 150 pour (humidity in my area) but when I use the hair dryer to smooth out the old batch of candles poured at 150- frosting occur. shoukd I be using heat gun or? is there a temperature limit to smoothing out the tops? kandlekrazy
I wouldn't say a hair dryer is too hot but it definitely blows too much air. A heat gun is much better to use on candles.
TallTayl
Soy waxes are all pretty unforgiving of being partially remelted. It causes random recrystalization which looks like unintended frost. You could try a second pour, though I often end up with cracking if the pour temps are too cool.
NightLight
You need a heat gun, it will help. A hairdryer doesn’t work well as the heat does get as hot as heat gun. Get the smaller craft heat gun, versus the type at Home Depot which haha cause a fire if used incorrectly. Amazon has the smaller craft it’s a learning curve with heat guns and melting candle tops.
