C-3 vs C-1

Love the C-1, but finding it really difficult to wick these days.  To those who have used both c-3 and c-1, how would you compare the two in terms of wicking, hot throw, wet spots, hardness, etc?

I had trouble with some c1 batches. Like it had too much palm sometimes.

The work around that worked for me was to add 20% of a plain soy. I used midwest. so 80:20 c1 to another plain old soy.

then to combat the drying of the wax I added 5% coconut wax.

cd wicks were my usually go to for most scents.

c3 turned into a hard wicker too - which prompted the change for me. When I started out a cdn10 or cdn12 in 3” tins. No way either of those even touch that wax now. sooooo frustrating.

I have htp wicks. Will these be going to the wayside? I’m not using them, but have a ton of them. Do not want to test

with them if there are new versions coming out.

From what I heard, when the yarn changed a new set of htp wick sizes was created to distinguish old from new.

it is anyone’s guess what will happen as this global shortage carries on. I’ve turned to using what I have the most of to try to weather this out. Feels like Everyone is hanging on by their fingertips right now.
