candlesinflorida
Has anyone tried a machine like this? It says that it can infuse herbs into oils, and mentions that candle makers use it. It seems like a cool idea, but not sure what is exactly going on! https://shop.levooil.com/collections/machines
TallTayl
This sure doesn’t make much infused oil at one time. A quart mason jar of oil filled with herbaceous material on a window sill, or in a sous vide would be faster and cheaper. The fragrant compounds actually infused into oil would be pretty low to smell in a candle. It takes a LOT of plant material to extract the volatile oils we smell.
candlesinflorida
Interesting. I used it for basil butter, and it came out amazing. But of course that is very different from fragrance oil. Do you have any other ways that essential oils or something similar could be created at home? ScentGalore
If you're planning on selling goods with homemade oils you're likely going to have to jump through a lot of hoops, safety testing, labs, regulations, fun stuff like that 🙈
