Candybee
...and if so, what else do I need to use in the sugar scrub to keep it from seperating out and what preservative should I use?
Shari
I make sugar scrubs but never thought to add silk amino acids. Curious now. I would think the emulsifier would keep it together, might need a bit more than usual.

The emulsifier is emulsified wax and the preservative Phenonip. I am new to making sugar scrubs so will be testing it out to see if I like it. NightLight
Phenonip is good preservative for scrubs, though it is parabens. It’s wash off product not a lotion. Regarding additives, I think you will feel you won’t need anything else as emulsified scrubs leave you skin very well conditioned. If you want to add the silk you could add .15 in formula for label appeal.
Candybee
Hmmm, I'll check and see if I have another preservative that's paraben free that I can use for a scrub. Still considering the silk but mostly as label appeal.

Shari
I've been using Optiphen Plus in my scrubs for with no issue. I've also used Phenonip in the past. I love sugar scrubs. They make my skin feel so good.
