Robinp
Even after taking every precautionary measure listed to stop glycerin rivers from occurring I still get bars of soap full of them. My recipe is 40%olive oil 25%coconut oil 25%palm oil 5%sweet almond oil 5%castor oil I use a 10 to 15 percent water discount. I have used both heat transfer method and by having my mixed at around 110degrees before combining. Then after pouring in my mold I put in my refrigerator to make sure it doesn't get to hot. Nothing helps. Any idea why? Edited August 25, 2020 by Robinp Added details of my problem
Shari
I don't know what a water discount is but if you use a 31-33% lye concentration, I have found that helps with the rivers. Are you using any TD? TD seems to enhance the rivers. I gel all my soaps though but find the rivers are very much eliminated.
TallTayl
Titanium dioxide differences can be massive. I have had loads of good luck with the water dispersible from Nurture Soap. My lye concentration is 40% on a typical batch. So far after 3 years no noticeable glycerin rivers.
