Ideas for what I can do with tea tins?

Recommended Posts

I have another one not pictured here that is different but still roughly the same size.  I'm trying to figure out if there's something crafty I can do with them, or some other way of putting them to good use.  WWCSD? (What would Craft Server do?)

That brings up a question. You can't make candles in them because they are not seamless, correct?

Could you put a plastic liner in it and use with a plant or as a vase?

Wrap them with kraft paper or wrapping paper, line the inside with wax paper and put baked goodies in them.

I like the other ideas posted too.

I like that idea.  I can see them with cute succulents growing in them.

You can certainly use them to make candles as I have many times.   All you have to do is fill them with water and let them sit for a few hours and see if any liquid seeps out of the containers.   If you don't see any wetness to the tins, you are good to go to use as candle containers.

Candles create heat stress on seams. The water test is a good start but it might not be bad to paint the liner with a heat resistant sealant to compensate for the expanding and contracting during a candle burn.
